How to share a board with a QR code

QR codes are a quick way to get a whole class onto the same board. Display the QR code on a projector and students can scan it with their phone, tablet, or laptop camera.

Generating a QR code

  1. Open the board you want to share.
  2. Click the Share button in the top-right corner.
  3. Make sure General access is set to Viewer or Editor (so anyone with the link can access the board).
  4. Click the QR code button.
  5. A QR code will be displayed on screen.

Sharing the QR code

  • In the classroom — Display the QR code on your projector or interactive display. Students scan it with their device’s camera.
  • In handouts — Take a screenshot of the QR code and include it in printed materials.
  • Online — Share the QR code image in a chat or email alongside the direct link.

Tips

  • Make sure general access is enabled before sharing the QR code, otherwise students won’t be able to access the board.
  • The QR code links to the same URL as the share link, so both methods lead to the same board.
