How to use Jotboard for brainstorming
Jotboard is a great tool for brainstorming sessions, whether you’re in the same room or collaborating remotely.
Setting up a brainstorming board
- Create a new board and give it a descriptive name.
- Share the board with your team by link or QR code, with Editor permissions so everyone can contribute.
Running the session
- Have each participant add their ideas as sticky notes. Use different colours to group ideas by category or person.
- Once all ideas are on the board, drag sticky notes to rearrange them into groups or themes.
- Use text boxes to add headings for each group.
- Use the drawing tools to draw connections, arrows, or annotations between ideas.
Tips
- Use multiple slides to separate different stages of the brainstorm (e.g. “Ideas”, “Grouped”, “Priorities”).
- The real-time collaboration means everyone can add ideas simultaneously — no waiting for turns.
- After the session, export the board as a PDF to share the results with stakeholders.
