Learn how to use the laser pointer tool in Jotboard to draw attention to specific areas during presentations and lessons.

How to use the laser pointer

The laser pointer tool lets you temporarily highlight areas of the board during presentations and lessons. The pointer trail fades away after a moment, so it doesn’t leave permanent marks.

Getting started

  1. Click the Pointer icon in the toolbar.
  2. Click and drag on the board to draw a pointer trail.
  3. The trail will fade away automatically.

When to use the laser pointer

  • Drawing attention to specific content during a live lesson or meeting
  • Pointing out details on a shared board while screen sharing
  • Guiding collaborators through a diagram or process
  • Highlighting answers or key points during a review session

Tips

  • The laser pointer is visible to all collaborators in real time.
  • It’s ideal for use with fullscreen presentation mode.
  • Since the trail fades away, you can use it freely without cluttering the board.
