How to select multiple objects

You can select multiple objects at once to move, copy, duplicate, or delete them together.

Selecting multiple objects

  1. Make sure the Select tool is active in the toolbar.
  2. Click on the first object to select it.
  3. Hold Shift and click on additional objects to add them to the selection.

To select everything on the current slide, press Ctrl+A (or Cmd+A on Mac).

What you can do with multiple selected objects

  • Move — Click and drag any selected object to move them all together.
  • Copy and paste — Press Ctrl+C then Ctrl+V (or Cmd+C / Cmd+V on Mac) to copy and paste all selected objects. Pasted objects are automatically offset so they don’t land on top of the originals.
  • Cut — Press Ctrl+X (or Cmd+X on Mac) to cut all selected objects.
  • Duplicate — Right-click and select Duplicate to create copies of all selected objects.
  • Delete — Press Delete or Backspace to delete all selected objects.
  • Lock / Unlock — Right-click and select Lock or Unlock to lock or unlock all selected objects at once.
  • Change order — Right-click and use Change order to move all selected objects forward, backward, to the front, or to the back.

Removing an object from the selection

Hold Shift and click on a selected object to remove it from the selection.

Tips

  • Shift+click is the quickest way to build up a selection of specific objects.
  • Use Ctrl+A to quickly select everything when you want to move or copy an entire slide’s content.
  • Locked objects in the selection cannot be moved or deleted until they are unlocked.
