Information about migrating from Google Jamboard to Jotboard, and why Jotboard is a great alternative.
Migrating from Google Jamboard
Google Jamboard was shut down in late 2024. If you were a Jamboard user, Jotboard is a straightforward replacement that offers a similar experience with additional features.
Can I import my Jamboard boards?
Jotboard previously offered a Jamboard import feature while Jamboard was still available. Unfortunately, since Jamboard has been shut down, importing boards directly is no longer possible.
If you exported your Jamboard content as PDFs or images before the shutdown, you can import those into Jotboard as board backgrounds.
What makes Jotboard a good alternative?
Jotboard was built as an easy-to-use collaborative whiteboard, much like Jamboard. Key similarities and improvements include:
- Real-time collaboration — Multiple people can work on the same board simultaneously.
- Sticky notes — Add coloured sticky notes, just like in Jamboard.
- Drawing tools — Pen, marker, highlighter, brush, and eraser.
- Image support — Upload images or search Google Images directly.
- Multiple slides — Create up to 99 slides per board.
- Sharing — Share boards via link, email, or QR code.
- PDF import and export — Import PDF pages as backgrounds and export boards as PDFs.
- Backgrounds — Choose from built-in options including dot grids, graph paper, and more.
Getting started
Sign up for a free Jotboard account and create your first board. The interface will feel familiar if you’ve used Jamboard before.
