How to clear a frame

Learn how to clear all the content from a slide (frame) in Jotboard without deleting the slide itself.

Sometimes you want to reuse a slide without starting a new one — for example, resetting a workspace between groups or lessons. Clearing a frame removes everything drawn or placed on it, while keeping the slide itself (and its position in the board) intact.

How to clear a frame

  1. Navigate to the slide you want to clear.
  2. In the toolbar at the top of the board, click Clear frame.
  3. A confirmation dialog will ask if you’re sure you want to clear the frame. Click Clear to confirm, or Cancel to back out.

The slide’s drawings and objects are removed immediately for all collaborators on the board.

What gets cleared

  • All objects, including sticky notes, shapes, text boxes, and images
  • All pen, marker, highlighter, and brush drawings

What stays the same

  • The slide itself — it isn’t removed from the board
  • The slide’s position in the slide selector
  • The slide’s background

Things to know

  • You need Editor permission. Viewers can’t clear a frame.
  • Clearing can be undone. Press Ctrl+Z (or Cmd+Z on Mac) right after clearing to bring everything back.
  • This only affects the current slide. Other slides in the board are untouched.

If you want to remove the slide entirely instead of just its content, see how to delete a slide.
