Learn how real-time collaboration works in Jotboard, including live cursors, presence indicators, and collaborator limits.
How to collaborate in real time
Jotboard is built for real-time collaboration. When multiple people open the same board, everyone can see each other’s changes instantly.
Live presence
When collaborators join your board, their avatars appear in the top-right corner. You can see who is currently viewing or editing the board at any time.
What collaborators can do
- Editors can draw, add sticky notes, insert images, create text boxes, and modify any content on the board.
- Viewers can see the board and watch changes happen in real time, but cannot edit anything.
Collaborator limits
- Free plan: Up to 5 people can collaborate on a board at the same time.
- Paid plans: Unlimited collaborators can join a board simultaneously.
On the free plan, you’ll see a collaborator count (e.g. “3 / 5”) in the header. If the limit is reached, additional users will be asked to wait or upgrade.
Tips for smooth collaboration
- Assign different slides to different groups to avoid crowding a single page.
- Use the laser pointer tool to draw attention to specific areas during discussions.
- If you experience connection issues, try refreshing the page. Your work is saved automatically.
