How to create a sub-team

Learn how to create sub-teams in Jotboard to organise members into smaller groups within a team.

How to create a sub-team

Sub-teams let you organise members into groups within a team — for example, “Engineering > Front-end”. Anything shared with a parent team is automatically accessible to all sub-team members.

Creating a sub-team

  1. Click your avatar in the top-right corner and go to Settings.
  2. Navigate to the Teams section and open the team you want to add a sub-team to.
  3. Click Create sub-team.
  4. Enter a name for the sub-team and confirm.

Adding members

Invite members to a sub-team the same way as a regular team — go to the sub-team’s settings, click Invite, and enter their email addresses.

Inherited access

Sharing a folder or board with a parent team automatically gives access to all sub-team members. To restrict access to just a specific group, share directly with the sub-team instead of the parent team.

Billing

Each unique member is counted once regardless of how many sub-teams they belong to. Adding a member to multiple sub-teams does not increase your seat count.
